Racing
Keelboat racing takes place in Oban Harbour almost every Tuesday evening meeting at 6/6.30pm for a 7pm start, between April and September. In addition there are regular weekend Trophy races, a regatta, and the club organises the Round Mull Race over a weekend in late June or early July. Oban Sailing Club is also a co-organiser (along with the Royal Highland Yacht Club and Western Isles Yacht Club) of West Highland Week in July/August.
Whether you have any experience or not we encourage you to try your hand at keelboat racing. Either contact the Vice-Commodore directly or come down to the clubhouse on spec any Tuesday evening at 6pm. (You will need waterproof clothing: we have lifejackets that you can borrow).
Training
If you are interested in learning yacht race crew skills, then please register your interest for our course. Head over to the Keelboat Training page for more information.
Keelboats are often short of crew and would welcome anyone to join in to learn and have fun. The club has an informal Facebook Group to assist matching crew to boats.
The club runs a number of other courses suitable for the keelboat sailor. Take a look at our Training Page for our full list of courses
